A conversation that meets you where you are.

Jamie is an integrative counsellor working with adults aged 18 and over. He offers a warm welcome and space to explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences without fear of judgement. Getting in touch can feel overwhelming, and you do not need a script or a clear explanation of what is wrong. Whether you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, difficulties at work or in your family, a relationship breakdown, or a sense of feeling lost, the work starts with where you are.

How we would work together.

Jamie adapts his approach to you rather than following a single formula. Sessions offer room to reflect, build self-awareness and explore what feels difficult. You can meet weekly or fortnightly, reviewing together how the work is going. Over time, less frequent check-in sessions can be discussed where appropriate.

Supporting men.

Jamie recognises the stigma that can make it difficult for men to seek counselling. He works with men bringing a range of concerns, meeting their experiences with sensitivity and care. His trauma-informed approach makes room for difficult experiences without expecting you to have everything worked out before you begin.

Your first conversation.

Jamie offers a free 20-minute consultation, usually by phone. You can explain the support you are looking for, ask about his approach and decide whether to arrange a session.

Qualifications and approach.

  • Integrative counsellor (MBACP)
  • Level 5 trauma-informed practitioner

Meeting in person.

In-person sessions take place at the Wellness Rooms, Tavistock, PL19 0BN. Jamie describes his room as being at ground level, with a toilet and nearby parking. Please discuss any access requirements before booking.

Before you begin.

Your first enquiry is a chance to ask about suitability, availability, professional registration, confidentiality and cancellation terms. You can discuss the pace and what you would like from counselling before agreeing the work.
